Police are investigating the theft of tree service equipment from a rural Waimea location.
At 7:45 a.m. Friday, officers responded to a report of a theft from a storage container in the baseyard for Pacific Island Trees, just east of Puanuanu Place off Mamalahoa Highway.
Stolen equipment included 11 Stihl chain saws, four Stihl pole chain saws, a Stihl backpack blower and a 5-gallon red plastic gas can.
Investigators determined the incident occurred sometime between 5 p.m. Thursday and 7:45 a.m. Friday.
Potential witnesses or anyone with information is asked to call the police nonemergency line at 935-3311 or Crime Stoppers at 961-8300.
